Trademark Gamers

Hi folks, I figured it might be a good idea to write a short developer feature to inform you on what is coming to the TmG site over the coming days, week and months. I have quite a lot planned for the continued development of the site as well as some good opportunities to add your ideas on what you would like to see.

Here is a run down of what, where and when.

Fixes (within the next week)

• Tidy up registration comfirmation page.
• Get private message system working fully.

New Features coming

• Gallery Commenting - this is a simple feature, but due to the nature of the galleries at present isnt possible, I plan to recode the galleries so you can comment on a gallery. Expected: Early Feb 2009
• User submitted galleries - Its all well and good looking at the galleries provide by the TmG staff its also good to be able to share your own personal galleries with other users. Expected: Early Feb 2009
• Send to a friend and social sharing - All articles will include the ability to share with a friend and/or any of the big social networking/sharing sites such Facebook, Digg & Newsvine. Expected: Early Feb 2009
• User blogs - does what it says on the tin! Expected: Mid Feb 2009

Completed features (updated 17th Jan 2009)

• User submitted community news - you may realise we dont have a scene news section, this is because we dont feel there is a benefit to repeating the same information that is on other sites such as Cadred. The plan here is to allow the users to submit news, that way you can post lineup changes and team announcements in your own time for all to see. Expected: COMPLETED
• Friends list - this is technically tied into the problem with the PM system at the moment. I hope to have the ability to add friends available very soon. COMPLETED
• More extensive user profiles - we hope to expand the current use of user profiles to include some cool features such as a Wall similar to Facebook so you can spam your friends! COMPLETED
